Terms of Service

Last updated: March 17, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Kanso, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service. These terms apply to all users of Kanso, including users on free and paid plans.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use Kanso. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating and maintaining your account and to notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised or used without authorization.

3. The service

Kanso is a personal finance management service that helps users track transactions, connect financial accounts, create budgets and goals, and access analytics and AI-powered features. We may add, remove, or modify features from time to time.

Kanso is not a bank, broker, lender, accountant, or financial advisor. Nothing in the service constitutes financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on information provided through the service.

4. Financial data and third-party services

Kanso relies on third-party service providers to deliver important parts of the service, including Plaid for financial account connectivity, Supabase for authentication and infrastructure, Google Gemini AI for certain AI-powered features, and Lemon Squeezy for subscription billing.

By connecting a financial account, you authorize us and our service providers to access and process the financial data necessary to provide the service. Your use of those third-party services may also be subject to their own terms, policies, and privacy practices.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and Lemon Squeezy

Kanso offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions may be billed on a recurring basis and renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing cycle.

Payments for paid subscriptions are processed through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record for purchases made through the checkout flow. Pricing, taxes, billing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment processing may therefore also be subject to Lemon Squeezy's applicable terms and policies.

If you have a billing question or believe there has been a billing error, contact us at hello@usekanso.com and we will work with you and, where necessary, Lemon Squeezy to address the issue.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use Kanso to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service, infrastructure, or security of the platform
  • Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems without authorization
  • Use the service to commit fraud, abuse third-party services, or bypass plan limitations
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or misuse the service in a way that harms Kanso or other users

7. Your data

You retain ownership of the data you submit to or connect through Kanso. We do not claim ownership of your financial data. You may request access to, export of, correction of, or deletion of your data, subject to our privacy practices and any retention we may need for security, billing, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backup and recovery purposes. See our Privacy Policy for more information about how we handle data.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Kanso if you violate these terms, engage in fraud or abuse, create risk for the service or other users, or if we are required to do so for legal, security, or operational reasons. You may stop using the service at any time and may cancel any paid subscription through the applicable billing flow.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and availability. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, continuous uptime, or error-free operation.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kanso will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated terms on this page and may also notify you by email or through the product. Your continued use of the service after the updated terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction from which Kanso operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Questions about these terms? Email us at hello@usekanso.com.
